Mark Wilson

Mark is the Principal of W Advisers. He established the firm in 2011. He works across corporate, insolvency and dispute resolution matters for listed and private companies, high net worth business owners and investors, fund managers, boards and management. Mark has a decade of experience at global law firms and has founded a number of law firms. He has acted on high profile corporate collapses and advised many Boards on directors duties. He is regularly retained by other professional services firms and insolvency firms.

Nicholas Parsons

Nicholas is a Partner of the Firm in our Dispute Resolution team. He is experienced in advising and acting for clients on a broad range of litigation matters in NSW, Federal and interstate courts and tribunals, particularly the Equity Division of the Supreme Court of NSW. He was admitted to practice in 2015.

During his studies at the Australian National University, Nicholas received the Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Award (awarded to the top 20 undergraduates in Australia) and worked as a Research Associate with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. He graduated in 2014 with a first-class honours Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Asia and Pacific Studies (Indonesian).

Nicholas also obtained first place in the Prime Minister’s Cup International Malay Oratory Competition (2008). He has published research in academic Journals such as the Sydney Law Review and the Australian Journal of Asian Law.

Nic, who is blind, was a torch bearer in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games in recognition of his achievements in vision-impaired sport. His hobbies and interests include app development, automation, productivity, reading, and jazz drumming.

James Wan

James is a commercial lawyer and patent attorney with over 20 years of broad experience across the Indo-Pacific region including Australia, Singapore (+3 years) and Hong Kong (+6 years).  James has extensive experience in patent, trademark and design matters, and he is a leading IP specialist with deep technical knowledge in the fields of machine learning, blockchain, software and other advanced technologies.. He has advised a large range of clients from VC-funded startups, private equity funds, research institutes and industry-leading transnational tech companies, on matters including commercial agreements, IP licensing agreements, privacy, ESOPs and IP rights prosecution.  James consults with us assisting clients on these issues, and he also has his own practice James Wan & Co.

Cheryl Fender

Cheryl is a Senior Associate with our Dispute Resolution team. She is a dual Australian and US-qualified lawyer admitted to the bar in the state of Illinois with a Juris Doctor from the prestigious Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago and a bachelor's degree in business administration. After working in commercial litigation for a large Chicago firm for nearly 6 years, she moved to Australia for family reasons and worked for a major Australian law firm in relation to the Lehman Brothers collapse. Cheryl joined W Advisers in 2013.

Tiffany Le

Tiffany Le is an Associate with our Corporate & Commercial team. Tiffany has studied both in the USA and in Australia, and she obtained a Juris Doctorate from the University of Sydney in 2020.

Before joining W Advisers Tiffany worked in house with the ABC and in a global pharmaceutical company, and also worked as a paralegal at a global law firm.  

Tiffany is a strong advocate for young people’s rights and has volunteered to assist in the provision of legal services to disadvantaged young people.

Gabby He

Gabby is a solicitor at W Advisers who works in dispute resolution. She graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce and was admitted as a lawyer in New South Wales in the mid of 2023.

Before joining W Advisers, Gabby worked at a mortgage law firm specialising in mortgage finance law, where she assisted with writing and advancing loans, as well as resolving mortgage enforcement disputes.

Luke Zhou

Luke is a solicitor at W Advisers, having graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce in 2022. He was admitted to practice as a lawyer in April 2024.

Before joining W Advisers, Luke worked in strata litigation and as a global accounting firm consultant.  

Luke’s hobbies include basketball, traveling, and reading.

Christine Hu

Christine is a paralegal at W Advisers. She is a student at the University of New South Wales studying a double degree in Law and Economics, majoring in Data Analytics and Econometrics. Christine has competed in and judged Negotiations competitions and has undertaken leadership roles in University societies.

Christine has prior experience working in-house in insurance, financial services, and construction. She is numerically proficient and enjoys problem-solving.  Her hobbies and interests include oz-tag, badminton, Pilates, and travelling.

Elaine Holanda

Elaine is our Practice Manager. She qualified as a lawyer in Brazil and worked over a decade for the multinational hospitality group Accor, before moving to Australia and studying Graduate Certificate in Australian Migration Law and Practice. Elaine is entrepreneurial and has set up and run various businesses, and is enjoying optimising W Advisers’ business and office processes.
