Mark Wilson

Mark established W Advisers in 2011. Over the last 30 years at various boutique, national and global firms, Mark has:

Worked on M&A deals worth over A$100 billion.

Represented about 20 billionaires and UHNWIs across Australia, Europe, Africa, Russia, and South East Asia.

Advised many public and private Boards on corporate governance and peer review of other firms’ work.

Helped founders, especially in financial services and technology sectors, from start-up phase to successful exits through private equity deals, trade sales, or IPOs.

Advised private debt funds, investors, lenders and Directors in distressed situations and on restructuring, turnaround, insolvency and liquidation scenarios.

Built a dispute resolution practice that is now a multipartner practice with 5 staff.

Built an insolvency practice that acts for creditors, debtors and insolvency professionals on all phases of insolvency and restructuring.

A combined 7 years’ full-time experience as a tax practitioner at a leading law firm and and at the ATO, on complex M&A and audit matters.

Experience acting for professional service firms and partnerships and their owners in negotiating exits, investments or disputes.

Nicholas Parsons

Nicholas is a Partner of the Firm in our Dispute Resolution team. He is experienced in advising and acting for clients on a broad range of litigation matters in NSW, Federal and interstate courts and tribunals, particularly the Equity Division of the Supreme Court of NSW. He was admitted to practice in 2015.

During his studies at the Australian National University, Nicholas received the Prime Minister’s Australia Asia Award (awarded to the top 20 undergraduates in Australia) and worked as a Research Associate with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia. He graduated in 2014 with a first-class honours Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Asia and Pacific Studies (Indonesian).

Nicholas also obtained first place in the Prime Minister’s Cup International Malay Oratory Competition (2008). He has published research in academic Journals such as the Sydney Law Review and the Australian Journal of Asian Law.

Nic, who is blind, was a torch bearer in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games in recognition of his achievements in vision-impaired sport. His hobbies and interests include app development, automation, productivity, reading, and jazz drumming.

Gilbert Li

Gilbert is a Partner in the Firm’s Corporate & Commercial team, and joined in 2025.

Gilbert has over 20 years of experience advising on some of the most complex and strategically important M&A and joint venture transactions across the Asia-Pacific region. He has extensive experience in technology, financial services, retail and healthcare sectors. Gilbert brings more than 20 years’ experience working in global firms and in management roles in such firms, into a boutique firm setting. He is passionate about assisting clients regardless of their size. His clients have included leading international technology companies, high-profile technology startups, bulge-bracket investments banks, global private equity firms and multinational conglomerates.

Since coming to Australia in 2023, Gilbert’s matters (while at another firm) have included advising:

Resimac Group on its acquisition of a A$1.5 billion receivables and leases portfolio from Westpac.

Qatar Investment Authority on its US$7 billion take-private of ESR (a leading New Economy real estate platform in APAC).

Pacific Equity Partners on its A$360 million privatisation of ASX-listed Healthia by scheme of arrangement.

Insignia Financial (ASX: IFL) on its sale of certain financial advisory business which constitutes Rhombus Advisory.

National Dental Care and Crescent Capital Partners on the proposed A$303 million privatisation of ASX-listed Pacific Smiles Group by way of a scheme of arrangement.

a global special situation fund on the proposed privatisation of a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Cheryl Fender

Cheryl is a Senior Associate with our Dispute Resolution and Insolvency teams.

Cheryl is a dual Australian and US-qualified lawyer admitted to the bar in the state of Illinois with a Juris Doctor from the prestigious Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago and a bachelor's degree in business administration.

After working in commercial litigation for a large Chicago firm for nearly 6 years, Cheryl moved to Australia for family reasons and worked for a major Australian law firm in relation to the Lehman Brothers collapse.

Cheryl joined W Advisers in 2013, but still barracks for the University of Florida Gators’ football team as if she never left college.

Tiffany Le

Tiffany is an Associate with our Corporate & Commercial team. She has been with our firm for more than 4 years. She undertakes work for public and private companies on M&A matters, equity plans, start-ups, restructures, and commercial contracts.

Tiffany spent the first few years of life in the Czech Republic before returning to Vietnam. She later pursued a Financial Economics bachelor’s degree in the U.S. before completing a Juris Doctor program with the University of Sydney.

Before joining W Advisers, Tiffany was a part of the Corporate team at Allen & Overy Shearman in Ho Chi Minh City. She worked in-house at the Australian Broad Casting Corporation and Novo Nordisk Australia – a global healthcare leader specialising in chronic diseases such as Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

 Tiffany is dedicated to empowering young people, leveraging her legal expertise to support disadvantaged youth. She also helps Vietnamese students strengthen their English skills through volunteer teaching.

 Outside of work, Tiffany is passionate about protecting wildlife and proudly supports the World Wildlife Fund Turtles’ program. She also has a love for languages, having explored the basics of Korean, Spanish and Russian apart from other tongues.

Luke Zhou

Luke is a solicitor at W Advisers, having graduated from UNSW with a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce in 2022. He was admitted to practice as a lawyer in April 2024.

Luke assists our partners on a wide variety of both corporate and dispute matters.

Before joining W Advisers, Luke worked in strata litigation and as a global accounting firm consultant.  

Luke’s hobbies include basketball, travelling, and reading.

Deljin Javadi

Deljin is a paralegal at W Advisers. She is a student at the University of New South Wales studying a double degree in Law and Computer Science, majoring in Security Engineering.

Deljin has held a number of leadership positions at university and is currently the President of the UNSW Science Society.

Deljin has prior experience in diverse professional environments including a barrister’s chambers, education, and real estate. She brings strong organisational and communication skills to her work and enjoys engaging with complex problems.

Zia Wagener

Zia Wagener is a Paralegal at W Advisers. She is currently completing a Juris Doctor at UNSW and holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science. She regularly competes in mooting competitions and serves as a Law Peer Leader. Zia has also volunteered with organisations working on complex social security matters, gaining valuable insight into public-interest law.

Natalie is W Advisers Office Manager and Head EA and brings over 15 years of experience in office management, operations, and client services.

Natalie’s background spans diverse industries, including professional services, banking, heritage consulting, and disability support. She emigrated to Australia from England in 2010 and At W Advisers, Natalie plays a pivotal role in managing day-to-day operations and supporting the executive team, contributing to the firm’s efficiency and client-focused culture.
